Temporary Polling Place Move For Fall 2017 Elections - New Voter Cards Mailed

Many west side voters were mailed new voter cards the week of July 17 because of a temporary polling place move for this fall’s elections.

West High School will not be available for voting this fall due to construction, and voting will be moved to the University of Iowa Athletic Hall of Fame, 2425 Prairie Meadow Drive.

For the September 12 school election, this affects voters in Iowa City School Precinct 5, which includes these regular precincts:

  • Iowa City 2, 7, 8, and 9
  • University Heights
  • The eastern part of Union Township in the Iowa City School District
  • Six voters in Clear Creek Township in the Iowa City School District

For the November 7 city election (and if needed the October 10 city primary) this will affect voters in Iowa City regular Precinct 7.

We expect to return to West High for elections in 2018.
