Polling Place Moves For Fall 2017 Elections

Two Iowa City precincts will vote at temporary locations for the November 7, 2017 city election, due to school construction.

Iowa City Precinct 7 voting will be moved from the regular location, West High, to the University of Iowa Athletic Hall of Fame, 2425 Prairie Meadow Drive. Voters in Precinct 7 were sent new voter cards in July, as this move also affected the September 12 school election.

Voting for Iowa City Precinct 18 will temporarily move from Longfellow School to the Kirkwood Avenue Church of Christ, 1320 Kirkwood Avenue. Precinct 18 voters were mailed new voter cards indicating this move on September 21.

We expect to return to West High and Longfellow for elections in 2018.

The November 7 city election will also be our first election at the new permanent polling place for University Heights, City Hall at 1302 Melrose Avenue. City Hall is located at the former site of St. Andrew Church, the longtime polling place for University Heights. The city voted at temporary sites during 2016.
