
Federal vaccine supplies will be distributed to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). In turn, IDPH will distribute to Johnson County Public Health with specific expectations regarding priority population groups that are intended to receive the vaccine.
Vaccination
For the convenience of the public, Johnson County Public Health has been working to get doctors and pharmacies in the county signed up as H1N1 vaccine providers. Below is a current list of providers.

Johnson County Public Health will be offering 2009 H1N1 vaccinations at the Health and Human Services Building, located at 855 S Dubuque Street, to the uninsured or those who otherwise do not have access to vaccinations. Starting December 30th, clinics will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call (319) 688-5894, during regular business hours.

The Iowa Department of Public Health has announced that starting Monday, December 14, 2009, all Iowans will be eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine.

Vaccines are available to protect against 2009 H1N1 influenza.
- These vaccines are made just like seasonal flu vaccines.
- They are expected to be as safe and effective as seasonal flu vaccines.
- They will not prevent "influenza-like" illnesses caused by other viruses.
- They will not prevent seasonal flu. You should also get seasonal influenza vaccine, if you want to be protected against seasonal flu.
