Kim Painter, Recorder
|The Johnson County Recorder's office provides direct service to the county’s citizens and also serves as a repository for many public records. Some of these pertain to land transactions, documenting title to property. We also provide registration and titling services for those who own recreational vehicles such as boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs. Finally, we issue marriage licenses and house the county’s birth, death, and marriage records, and provide certified copies of these documents. Such widely varied responsibilities make the Recorder's office an important site for services and document archives.
We have worked hard to bring you many options for online document searches. Those options are now available on this site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Future projects include the development of electronic transactions for filing various documents and the expansion of searchable records. Look here for updates and announcements as these projects proceed.
We are here to provide excellent service to our customers and visitors. We actively seek feedback from the public - just click here to send us an email. Your input will help us craft future strategic planning documents and steer a course for better service to you as taxpayers.
We’re working hard each day to earn and keep your confidence. Please let me know of any suggestions you might have.
