Staff in the women, infant, and child health clinics counsel parents regarding the need for regular dental care, conduct reviews of financial resources, and determine barriers to dental care.

Once this information is gathered, needed referrals can be made to a dentist in the county, assist can be provided in making applications for financial coverage for dental care in programs such as Title X, Hawk-I and Title V, and follow-up can be made to help ensure that children are being seen by the dentist at regular intervals.
